Vanity Raychell Anderson, 40, of Petersburg, Virginia, passed away on March 3, 2026. Born on October 16, 1985, in Amarillo, Texas, she was the daughter of Alma Juanita Anderson (Tinner) and Vernon Ray Anderson.

A gifted athlete from an early age, Vanity played basketball at Horace Mann and Palo Duro High School, and with the AAU team coached by Angie Graves. She also found joy in volleyball, swimming, and singing. A lifelong learner who deeply valued education and personal growth, she attended Colorado Technical University, where she earned repeated recognition on the President’s List for maintaining a perfect 4.0 grade point average.

Vanity is survived by her wife, Crystal Harris-Anderson; her parents, Alma Anderson (Tinner) and Vernon Anderson; her sisters, Alympia Brooks and Karmita Ryan; her brothers, Skyler Anderson, James Ryan and Adrian Anderson; her special children, Zidence Weschion Johnson, Myah Cook and Crishawn Markice Tyrell Harris; her godchildren, Ayianna Wooten, Brayden Carter and Daisy Sims; her nephews, TsaMarte’ Ryan, Tyrique Tramaine Breon Brooks, Terrance Trarenzo Brooks, Elijah Traymaine Anderson, Tavian Price and Octavious Price, Jr.; her nieces, Jamesiah Ryan, Marte’Zsa Price, Esme Camila Anderson Carnero and Aaliyah Ryan; her great-nieces, Zaylee Ryan, Brooklyn Rubio and Kae’lynn Price; her great-nephew, Elias Garrett; and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.

She will be remembered for her vibrant personality, her warm and loving heart, and the genuine kindness she extended to everyone she met. The love she shared with her family and friends will remain in their hearts always.
