Valerie Rene' Taylor Glaser

November 16, 1949 March 6, 2026

Perry, GA

Valerie Rene’ Taylor Glaser of Perry, Georgia, passed away peacefully on March 6, 2026, at the age of 76.

Born on November 16, 1949, in Savannah, Georgia, to Anna and Thomas Taylor, Rene’ spent her early years on Silk Hope Island, where she developed a lifelong love for the salt life. Her family later moved to North Augusta, South Carolina, where she enjoyed an adventurous childhood living above her parents’ houseboat restaurant beneath the 5th Street bridge on the Savannah River. She graduated from North Augusta High School and went on to become a licensed optician.

In 1975, Rene’ returned to Savannah and worked for many years with Dr. Alan Wexler. She moved to Perry, Georgia, in 1992 and continued her career at EyeSight Associates alongside Dr. Johnny Gayton in Warner Robins. A dedicated professional for more than 50 years, she formed many lasting friendships with patients and colleagues alike. Even after reaching retirement age, she continued working part time because she truly loved her work.

Rene’ was a longtime active member of First Baptist Church of Perry and the Greg White Sunday School Class. She found joy in cooking, savoring seafood, spending time at the beach, and tending to her beloved plants both indoors and outdoors. Above all, she cherished moments shared with family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 45 years, Allen Glaser Jr.; and her siblings, Sherry Rice, Ida Lynn Lariscy, and Tommy Taylor. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Tami and Nat Greene of Thomson, Georgia; her son and daughter-in-law, Mat and Cathy Glaser of Coral Springs, Florida; her grandchildren, Megan May, Taylor May, Connor May, Phoebe Glaser, and Zander Glaser; her dearest friend, Joyce Emerson of Perry; and many nieces and nephews.
