Valerie A. Miller

Valerie A. Miller, age 96, passed away on March 13, 2026 in Macedonia, Ohio, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on February 26, 1930 to Nickolas and Anna Moran, Valerie grew up in New Castle, Pennsylvania, where she graduated from Shenango High School. She spent 32 years as a supervisor with Kelly Temporary Services in Canton, Ohio and Greenville, South Carolina, work she truly enjoyed because of the people she met and helped every day. After retiring, she worked for a time as a receptionist for Gerber Children’s Wear in South Carolina. In 2005, Valerie and her husband Thurman returned to Ohio, where she became an active member of Church Of The Lakes. She was also a longtime member of the Canton Coterie Club, Shriners Ladies, and spent 40 years with Nazir Cauldron. Valerie found joy in playing cards, reading, bowling, shopping, and most of all, spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her daughters Deborah (Jack) Blakney and Pamela (Dale) Woodruff, grandchildren Meagan (Brian) Cook, Jonathan (Penny) Moore, and Cory Woodruff, and great-grandchildren Ethan and Quinn Moore and Jack Cook.

Valerie was preceded in death by her husband Thurman, her son Timothy, and her seven siblings Frank, Zach, Howard, John, Nick, Peter, and Irene.
