Funeral services for Mr. V.L. Mott, Jr. will begin at 1:00 PM Thursday, March 12, 2026, at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home chapel with Reverend Ben Duke officiating. Interment will follow graveside rites at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. The Mott Family will receive guests from 12:00 PM until 12:45 PM prior to funeral services in the chapel. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.
Mr. Mott, 81, of Little Rock, MS, formerly of Meridian, MS, died Monday, March 9, 2026, at his home, following a brief illness.
Vernon Louis, better known as V.L., was an avid sports enthusiast. He loved all sports throughout the year. He also enjoyed drag racing and cars of all types. He retired from Judge Little Sporting Goods in Meridian following a career spanning over 25 years. He was also known as “Milk Man” by his close friends. He was a Christian by faith and an active member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Little Rock. Above all he loved his family and Christ first and foremost.
Mr. Mott is survived by his sons, Vernon L. Mott, III and Kevin Mott; step-children, Randy W. Munn (Anita) and Rendie Miller (Randy);grandchildren, Brittany Gonzalez (Tony), C.J. Smyth, Nathan Mott, and Carsyn Mott; step-grandchildren, Bruce Agent (Jamie) and Kyle Agent (Krisha); two great-grandchildren, Blakeley Gonzalez, & Tenley Gonzalez; his nephews, Perry Winstead and Terrell Winstead (Sandra) as well as a host extended family members.
V.L. is preceded in death by his wives, Mrs. Jo Mott and Mrs. Kate Munn Mott; daughter-in-law Shannon Roper Mott; his parents, Louis and Gladys Mott; and his sister, Ann Winstead.
