Ursula Elizabeth Armstrong Huete Kaley
March 31, 1931— March 7, 2026
River Ridge, LA
Ursula Elizabeth Armstrong Huete Kaley passed away on the evening of Saturday, March 7, 2026, at the age of 94. Born on March 31, 1931, in New Orleans to Neil August Armstrong, Jr., and Ursula Wilhelmina Meyer Armstrong, she grew up in Chalmette and graduated from the Academy of Holy Angels in the Ninth Ward. She went on to earn her degree as a Medical Technologist from Loyola University, where she met her first husband, F. William Huete, DDS. Together they raised six sons and built a rich family life in the New Orleans area.
Known affectionately as the “Little She-Bear,” Ursula embraced life with energy and joy. She enjoyed tennis with the Goo-Goo’s, tap dancing, sewing, gardening, traveling, spending time at the beach, and gathering with her close circle of friends. After Bill’s sudden death in 1989, she found love again with one of his former Navy shipmates, Donald C. Kaley. The couple lived together in Savannah, Georgia, and later Diamondhead, Mississippi, before Ursula returned to River Ridge in her final years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Neil Armstrong III, and both of her husbands, Bill Huete and Don Kaley. Ursula is survived by her sons—Rev. Francis William Huete, SJ; David Armstrong Huete, PE (Maria); Commander Michael Charles Huete, USN (Ret.) (Janice); Deacon Stephen Marc Huete (Dorothy); Lieutenant Colonel Timothy Hopper Huete, USMC (Ret.) (Nora); and Captain Patrick Niles Huete, USN (Ret.) (Kris)—along with sixteen grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Her family extends heartfelt thanks to the dedicated caregivers who supported her in recent years, especially her Visiting Angels, TraCie and Fontella, whose compassionate care brought comfort to Ursula and to all who loved her.
