Ursula Minard ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Sunset Memorial Chapel - Des Moines on Mar. 16, 2026.Ursula Brunhilde Minard, age 92, was born April 15, 1933, in Dillenburg, Germany, and passed away on March 5, 2026, at Regency Care Center in Norwalk, Iowa.Ursula was a loving wife, mother, and Oma (grandmother). She was an active volunteer at St. John's the Apostle Catholic Church in Norwalk, where she was a member of the Rosary Society and helped bring communion to residents in nursing homes. Ursula was also an active member of the American Legion Auxiliary #562, the Air National Guard 132nd Airborne Wing Auxiliary, and the German American Club.She is survived by her husband, Clyde Harold Minard; her children, Sybille Ferguson, Walter (Gerri) Minard, and David (Kelli) Minard; six grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.Ursula was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Elisobeth Fruend; her brothers, Manfred, Rudiger, and Norbert Fruend; her son, Larry Clyde Minard; her son-in-law, Richard Ferguson; and her great-great-grandson, Michael Jon Hick.Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of Ursula during a visitation on Friday, March 20, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at St. John's the Apostle Catholic Church, 720 Orchard Hills Dr., Norwalk, Iowa. A funeral Mass celebrating Ursula's life and faith will be held Saturday, March 21, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at St. John's the Apostle Catholic Church in Norwalk.Ursula will be remembered for her deep love of family, her strong faith, and her caring service to others.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
