Tyrell Demario King

Tyrell Demario “Poohbear” King of Rockford, Illinois, passed away on March 6, 2026. He was born on December 29, 1992, in Rockford to Betty Quinby and James King.

Tyrell was a devoted father who cherished his children above all. He was known for his lively sense of humor, his passion for singing, gaming, and fashion. A graduate of Roosevelt High School, he later attended Rasmussen University and worked as a forklift operator at PCI, where he made a lasting impression on those around him.

He leaves to cherish his memory his two children, Nasir and Chanelle King, shared with Shanteya McGrone; his parents, Betty Quinby and James King; four sisters, Chriseana King, E’Lexus Quinby, Tania King, and E’Nadia Winters; three brothers, Johnny Quinby, Darryl Quinby, and Kareem Young; grandmothers Rhonda Quinby and Martha Davidson; special brothers Christian Blake and Andrew Moss II; special sister Helena Blake-Garden; and a host of nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his brother Demarcus Hanson, special brother Robbie Earl Green Jr., sister Tyshonna Hanson, aunt Mikayla Marie Davidson-Jackson, grandparents James Shelby and Edward Stamper Jr., and great-grandparents Ruth Jones, Virginia King, and Martha Shelby.
