Tyra Regina Davey, age 69, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, was born on July 31, 1956, in Jeffersonville, Indiana. She passed away peacefully on March 7, 2026.
Tyra graduated from Jeffersonville High School in 1975, where she was a standout athlete on the track team, excelling in shot put and relay events. Her discipline, competitive spirit, and dedication defined much of her character throughout her life. At the age of 17, she accepted Christ and was baptized, becoming a devoted member of Truth for the Nation Non-Denominational Church. Her faith remained a guiding light, shaping how she loved and cared for others. She worked in food service, first at Jeffersonville High School and later at Kingfish Restaurant, where her warm smile, strong work ethic, and genuine kindness left a lasting impression on those around her.
Tyra shared 52 beautiful years of marriage with the love of her life, Roy Milton Davey, Sr. Together they raised three sons, and she devoted herself fully to her roles as a loving wife and nurturing mother. Her home was a place of comfort, support, and unconditional love, and she took great pride in her family’s happiness and accomplishments.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Ida Lawson (Chambers) Croudep, and her brother, James Timothy Croudep. Tyra leaves to cherish her memory her devoted husband, Roy Milton Davey, Sr.; her sons, Roy Milton Davey, Jr., Michael Lee Davey, and Dominic Mantel Davey; her sister, Rose Ann Croudep; her brother, Michael Anthony Croudep (Stephanie); and her cherished grandchildren, Isaiah Malik Davey, Michael Mantel Davey, and Mar-Kaya Lee Smith. She will also be remembered fondly by a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends. Her life was marked by faith, resilience, and a deep, abiding love for her family, and her strength and gentle spirit will continue to live on in all those she touched.
