Mt. Gilead, OH

Tyler Lee Robinette, age 60, of Mt. Gilead, Ohio, passed away at home on Thursday, March 12, 2026. Born on July 7, 1965, in Upper Sandusky, he was the son of James and Cassandra (Stewart) Robinette Sr.

Tyler graduated from Mohawk High School in 1983. He served four years in the United States Air Force, stationed in Plattsburg, New York. Upon returning, he worked at Timken Co. in Bucyrus for ten years before spending many years in construction. An accomplished athlete, he played football and wrestled for Mohawk, advancing to the state tournament in wrestling—a achievement of which he was especially proud. For many years he also played softball in an adult traveling league.

He is survived by his father, James Robinette Sr. of Upper Sandusky; his daughters, Kimberly (William) Rives and Brittany Arnett, both of Bucyrus; five grandchildren, Ben Wentz, Hailey and Ava Rives, and Katie and Aubrey Arnett; his brother, James “Buckwheat” (Jackie) Robinette Jr. of Forest; his sister, Mary Lynn Robinette of Upper Sandusky; and many nieces and nephews. Tyler was preceded in death by his mother, Cassandra, and his sister, Opal Marcum.

Tyler was the life of the party who loved dancing, camping, spending time at the lake, and cheering on the OSU Buckeyes. He also enjoyed crocheting many hats over the years and cherished time with his friends and family.
