Tyler F. Phillips, a beloved father, son, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 8, 2026, at the age of 55 in his hometown of Newark, Ohio. Born on April 16, 1970, Tyler lived a life defined by adventure, dedication, and deep affection for those around him.Tyler was a long-standing and knowledgeable car salesman with Fred's Used Cars, where his expertise and joyful spirit left an indelible mark on colleagues and customers alike. He was a proud member of both the Newark Eagles Lodge and the Heath Eagles Lodge, where he enjoyed many evenings shooting pool and sharing stories with friends.His zest for life was evident in his many passions, including motorcycle and car racing, quad riding, and fishing. Tyler lived life on the edge, a free spirit who found happiness in each wild ride and every quiet moment with his dogs by his side.Tyler is lovingly remembered by his son, Isaiah Phillips; daughter, Taylor (Kody) Rostofer; significant other, Stacy Carr; father, Joseph "Fred" Phillips; brothers, Barry (Lisa) Phillips and Terry Phillips; sister, Sherry Tapia; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Judy (Moorman) Phillips.Family and friends will have the opportunity to remember and celebrate Tyler's life with a Celebration of Life Service at the Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home in Newark, on Friday, March 13, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the funeral service at the funeral home, 179 Granville Street, Newark, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.The family kindly requests donations in Tyler's memory to the American Heart Association, honoring his spirit and dedication to living fully. Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service, Newark, is honored to care for Tyler and his family during this time.Tyler F. Phillips will be dearly missed. His legacy of laughter, love, and living each day with boldness will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him.
