Twyla Pauline Zumbrun, 77, of Arkansas City, KS, formerly of Wellington, passed away Wednesday, March 4, 2026. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, March 13, 2026, at First Christian Church of Wellington, a visitation will be held from 10-11 A.M. at the church, prior to services. Graveside services will follow at Belle Plaine Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Futures Unlimited and left in the care of the Shelley Family Funeral Home. Twyla was born on October 16, 1948 in Wichita, KS to parents Frank and Opal (Griffith) Zumbrun. Twyla was born with cerebral palsy, but she never let that stop her from living life to the fullest. She attended Wichita schools before receiving an online degree in accounting. She lived at Futures Unlimited in Wellington for 13 years as a resident and then 13 years as staff she was named bookkeeper by Jack Allen when he became director. She worked for the Sumner County Register of Deeds digitizing files and doing data entry. Twyla enjoyed crocheting, watching game shows, being on her tablet, going for walks with family, collecting aluminum cans for Futures Unlimited, being ornery, and taking her great niece Sarah to the First Christian Church, which she made the first webpage for. She was such an inspiration to anyone who knew her. Twyla is survived by her nephews, John McGregor, Clay McGregor, Scotty Zollars, Matt Zumbrun, David Cook, James Cook, and Larry Cook and nieces Gretchen Esplund, Mollie Palmer, Marilyn Sears, Susan Cook, Cari Cook, and Marsha Cook, and adopted parents Jim and Neva Cook and many great-nieces and nephews and great-great Nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, and siblings Ada McGregor, Ann Zumbrun, John Zumbrun and Marietta Rufe and Mae Zollars and numerous nieces and nephews.
