Twila Arlene Whitcanack

Twila Arlene Whitcanack was born on December 22, 1937, in Sun Valley, Idaho, to Walter and Willa Scott. She was preceded in death by both of her parents as well as her sister Lila.

Since 1964, Twila made her home in the Independence, Missouri area, where she raised a stepson and stepdaughter.  She devoted herself to raising her family, working tirelessly to provide for them.

Twila’s professional journey spanned more than 47 years in the dental field, where she served as a dental hygienist for Dr. Robert Alexander and Dr. Ron Alexander. In addition, she worked for the K-Mart Corporation for 32 years, both part-time and full-time.

Outside of her professional life, Twila found great joy in tending her flower gardens. She took pride in keeping her yard beautiful and spent many happy hours working outdoors.

Twila departed this life on March 7, 2026, at Kansas City Hospice in Kansas City, Missouri. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her stepson, Donnell Whitcanack; her stepdaughter, Donna Johnson; her grandchildren, Brandon Scott Whitcanxck, Kyle S. Johnson, Krystopher S. Johnson; her great-grandchildren, Caden Cain Whitcanack, Kaylee S. Johnson, Raelin N. Johnson, Axel S. Johnson, Brantley S. Johnson, Emberlee Faith Johnson; nephews; nieces; and many other relatives and friends.
