Trudy Iaccino ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Vining Funeral Home - Safford on Mar. 17, 2026.Trudy Lynn Iaccino neé Holyoak was born to Melvin J Holyoak and Janice Rose Holyoak in Flagstaff, Arizona on November 5, 1964. She grew up in Holbrook, Arizona.Trudy graduated from Joe City High School in 1982. She went to the University of Arizona, intending to study pre-med. However, she discovered an aptitude for chemical engineering. It was in her engineering classes that she met Larry Iaccino, who she married in May 1987. They both graduated in 1988 and moved to Houston Texas for their jobs. She worked at Dow Chemical, and they enjoyed the early years of their marriage as they built their first house together and raised an assortment of animals.They had three daughters together, Miranda in 1996, Natasha in 1998, and Sabrina in 2001. Trudy took a break from engineering to be a stay home mom from 1996 through 2007, which she often fondly recalled as one of the happiest times of her life. Trudy rejoined the workforce in 2007 as a chemical engineer at INEOS, shortly before she and Larry divorced. She continued to be a valuable asset as an engineer, despite her time away, and was eventually recruited to work for Exxon Mobil in 2013.She also continuously supported her daughters as they graduated from high school and college. She prioritized her time with her family and love of travel, especially as her daughters got older. As an empty nester, she had time to focus on her own interests and hobbies. While she had been raised in the church, Trudy rejoined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 2023, receiving her temple recommend that November and receiving her endowments in July 2024. She also welcomed her first son-in-law, Miranda's husband, Jordan Newman, in May 2025.In December 2025, Trudy discovered that she had a brain tumor. Despite the care she received at MD Anderson, she ultimately passed due to complications from this brain cancer on March 15, 2026, at the age of 61. She will be dearly missed by her family, her friends, her ward, and her coworkers.Trudy is survived by: her daughters; brothers; and sisters. She is preceded in death by: her sister, Jacienda; and her parents.Graveside services for Trudy will be conducted Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at 9:00 a.m., at the Emery Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, Trudy and her daughters request that donations be made in her honor to cancer research.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
