Troy Merkle

Troy Merkle of Decatur, Indiana, passed away on March 16, 2026 at the age of 56. He is remembered fondly by family and friends for the love and inspiration he shared throughout his life.

Troy was predeceased by his parents, Eugene F. Merkle and Patricia L. Post (Krueckeberg), his brother Steve F. Merkle, and his niece Elizabeth Lichtensteiger. He is survived by his wife Bridget Merkle of Decatur, his son Travis A. Merkle of Decatur, his daughter Emily A. Merkle (Shawn Snowden) of Waynedale, and his sister Michelle M. Hill (Hider Stephenson) of Monroeville.

Through the years Troy remained a steady and caring presence in the lives of those closest to him, leaving behind a quiet legacy of devotion to his family. His memory will continue to live on in the hearts of his wife, children, sister, and all who knew him.
