September 22, 1958— March 9, 2026
Lambert, MS
Trina M. Smith, 67, of Lambert, Mississippi, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2026, surrounded by her loving family after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Born on September 22, 1958, in Marks, Mississippi, to Larue and Evone White, Trina was the youngest of her siblings, Sissy, Debbie, and Benny. She graduated from West Panola High School in Batesville and later earned her nursing degree from Northwest Community College. For thirty years, Trina served her community as a nurse, directing the Continue Care Home Health offices in Marks, Charleston, and Clarksdale. Her deep compassion and selfless dedication touched the lives of countless patients, families, and coworkers, and she carried that same spirit of care into her home.
Above all, Trina was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She raised her children to love God and lived her faith with quiet strength. Her greatest joy came from her role as “Nannie” to her grandchildren, where her warmth and playful spirit shone brightest. After the passing of her first husband, she found lasting happiness when she reconnected with her childhood sweetheart, Gary Smith. Their loving marriage brought comfort and joy, especially during her illness.
Trina will be remembered for her infectious laughter, mischievous nature, and quick wit that could light up any room. She is survived by her devoted husband, Gary Smith of Lambert; her children, Summers Robertson (Kevin) of Nolensville, Tennessee, Amber Mills (Brian) of Enid, Mississippi, Zachary Bailey (Megan) of Lambert, Cody Smith (Megan) of Olive Branch, Devin Smith (Todd) of Arlington, Texas, and Cassey Williams (Stephen) of Fort Walton Beach, Florida; fifteen grandchildren, Jadon, Emma, Finley, Madeline, James, Saydee, Garrott, Easton, Mary Payton, Peyton, Kyle, Gage, Jae, Roman, and Riley; and four great-grandchildren, along with many other cherished family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings, and her son, Ryan Meek.
