Trenna Lawson ObituaryPublished by Legacy on Mar. 15, 2026.It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Trenna Leigh Lawson, age 78, on Friday, March 13, 2026 at Good Samaritan Home in Quincy, IL. Trenna was born on December 22, 1947 to Trent and Vivian Groves Lawson in Michael, IL. Trenna graduated from Quincy Senior High School in 1966.After high school she worked at Kresge's in downtown Quincy. Trenna also attended Gem City Beauty College where she graduated and began her 40-year career as a hairdresser, cutting hair through generations of families. She worked in Key Salon. Trenna spent many, many years working at the salon at 416 N 24th Street which operated under many names in her time there. She later purchased the salon in September of 1991, turning it into what was known as Trends. Trenna retired in 2002. While retired, family and friends were still seen in her kitchen or dining room receiving the haircuts only she could give. She spent many of her days giving guidance, love, sometimes tough love, and understanding to many who she always called "her kids". She took pride in all of them and loved them dearly. Trenna was of the Christian faith; she was baptized and made Jesus her Lord and Savior at the age of 10. She was a member Central Baptist Church, where she was involved in the children's and high school ministries for many years, still having contact with some of the kids into her last days. In trying times, she would encourage looking to God's word for guidance and comfort. Trenna would often take long car rides to have conversations with the Lord. She had a strong relationship with Him. She was anxious for His greeting into eternity and to see the loved ones she dearly missed.Trenna found such joy in life's little things. She enjoyed visiting different golf courses with friends. Trenna loved telling stories of her travels which included some of her favorite stops California, Disneyland, The Statue of Liberty, and Niagara Falls. She was an incredible painter who loved painting landscapes and sometimes leaving them on her kitchen table for weeks as she continued to add things to them. She loved reading and received routine deliveries from the library. Trenna was an avid porch sitter who enjoyed the sun on her face, blowing bubbles and giggling with her visitors. Her candy dish was never empty and her door was always open waiting for "her kids" to stop by. Her home was a safe place for many and held more memories than you could count. She was the light in so many lives, a part of many journeys, feisty often and loved fiercely.Survivors include, honorary daughter, Amanda Heck, her children Allyson (Russ) Hess and Juliann Heck and her grandchildren Ginny & Henry Hess.
