October 4, 1989— March 14, 2026
Lewes, DE
Travis Jordan Blau, 36, of Lewes, Delaware, passed away peacefully on March 14, 2026, at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on October 4, 1989, in Point Pleasant, New Jersey, Travis lived with cystic fibrosis from childhood yet refused to let the disease define him. With quiet determination and an unrelenting will, he embraced every opportunity before him and inspired those around him through his resilience and grace.
Travis earned a degree in Sports Management from Mount Saint Mary’s College and later a second bachelor’s degree in English from Kean University. He taught English in Passaic, New Jersey, and served as a lacrosse coach at Parsippany Hills and Felician University, where his passion and mentorship left a lasting impact on his students and athletes. Even while managing his illness and undergoing a double lung transplant on his 27th birthday in 2016, he continued to push himself, attending CrossFit sessions with an oxygen tank and later building a successful career as a consultant at Deloitte. An avid sports fan, he remained devoted to the New York Yankees, Duke Blue Devils, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, sharing his love of the game with everyone around him.
Above all, Travis cherished his family. He was a loving and faithful husband to his wife Diana, who stood beside him through every challenge and triumph. Together they created a warm home in Lewes, Delaware, where he was a devoted father to his daughter Francesca and son Carmelo. He also shared a special bond with his beloved dog, Roxy. Travis’s warmth, humor, and genuine care made everyone around him feel valued, whether through time spent with family and friends or in the memories created during their travels.
He is survived by his loving wife, Diana Blau; his children, Francesca and Carmelo; his father, Wayne Blau and wife Jill; his mother, Stacey Romano and husband Paul; his sister, Jessica Vona; his brother-in-law, Justin Vona; his in-laws, Victor, Mia, and Joseph Scalici; his nephew and godson, Matthew Vona; his nephew, James Vona; his niece and goddaughter, Teresa Vona; his niece, Lilly Scalici; his in-laws, Diana and Victor Scalici; and his beloved dog, Roxy. Travis met every day with courage and heart, proving that his spirit was far stronger than the illness he faced, and he leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and quiet perseverance that will continue to inspire all who knew him.
