Altus, OK

Tracey Lynne Ramirez, a lifelong resident of southwest Oklahoma, passed from this life in the early morning hours of Monday, March 9, 2026, just four days after celebrating her 54th birthday. Born on March 5, 1972, in Altus to Xavier S. and Elizabeth Ann “Beth” (Sanford) Valdez, Tracey lived with passion, humor, and a vibrant personality that left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.

She attended Olustee Schools, where she served as class treasurer and graduated with the Class of 1991. Tracey began her career with OK-1 Manufacturing in 1999 on the sewing floor. Through determination, hard work, and natural leadership, she advanced to the role of Plant Manager, a position she held with pride until the plant closed in 2014. In the years that followed, she devoted herself to caring for her mother, Beth, during her battle with cancer, treasuring the meaningful time they shared through surgeries and treatments.

In 2015, Tracey joined Lathan, Nelson & Associates as a legal assistant. She later worked as purchasing manager for Henniges Automotive before returning to the law firm, where she remained a valued and respected team member until her passing.

Tracey was unforgettable, with a larger-than-life personality and a zest for life that made her stand out in any room. She loved anything that sparkled or glittered, favored big hair, perfect nails, and magnificent fragrances—a trait she shared with her father. She adored her dogs, Manny and Minnie, whom she loved fiercely. Shopping was one of her great joys, and she had a deep love for music, especially hits from the 1980s and 1990s as well as the soft rock classics she and her mother enjoyed together.

Tracey was preceded in death by her mother, Beth Lopez, and her grandparents, Esquiel T. “E.T.” and Delia Valdez and Richard and Viola Sanford. She is survived by her father, Xavier Valdez and wife Rhonda of Altus; her brother, Scott Valdez of Dallas, Texas; her nieces and nephews, Seany, Kelby, Destiny, Taylor, and Ayden; and many other loving family members and friends. She lived boldly, loved fiercely, and brought laughter and joy wherever she went, leaving the world a little dimmer without her sparkle.
