March 6, 1931— March 13, 2026
West Warwick, RI
Toshiko Hebert, 95, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 13, 2026, at home with her family by her side. She was the loving wife of the late Louis F. Hebert. Born on March 6, 1931, in Manchuria, China, to Japanese parents, Toshiko later moved to Japan where she pursued her education and attended college to become a nurse. She began her nursing career in Tokyo, and it was there that she met Louis, who was stationed in Japan while serving in the United States military. Although initially reluctant, she was eventually won over by his persistence and devotion. The couple married and began their life together in the United States.
Toshiko found quiet joy in simple pleasures that reflected her warm and thoughtful nature. She loved crocheting, reading, and watching sumo wrestling, which connected her to her homeland. A wonderful cook, she took special delight in preparing meals for those she loved. Above all, she cherished the time spent with her family.
She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who took great pride in her family. Toshiko is survived by her son, Louis G. Hebert, and her grandchildren, Kristen Hebert and Serey Rath. She was predeceased by her husband and her siblings.
