Tony Polson ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Posey Funeral Directors - North Augusta on Mar. 8, 2026.Jackson, SC – Mr. Tony Ray Polson, 81, entered into rest March 7, 2026, at his home. Funeral Services will be conducted Tuesday morning at 11 o'clock from First Baptist Church of Jackson with Rev. Brian Henderson officiating. Interment will follow in Jackson Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday evening from 5 until 7 o'clock.Mr. Polson was born July 17, 1944, to the late, Louis Alvin Polson and Marilea Abbott Polson. He was a native of Oklahoma, a former resident of Sylvania, GA, having made Jackson his home since 1957. Mr. Polson was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Jackson and a member of the Baraca Sunday School Class. He had an incredible work ethic and retired from Kimberly Clark with 34 years of service. Mr. Polson was a sports enthusiast from a young age, having played in the North-South Allstar Football Game in 1962. He was an avid South Carolina Gamecock fan and a member of the Gamecock Club for 26 years. Mr. Polson especially enjoyed following Lady Gamecock Basketball teams. He was actively involved in community sports programs, supporting Silver Bluff High School Athletics and was a founding member of the Silver Bluff Booster Club. He supported the local Jaycees, having served as a former president and state representative with the civic organization. Mr. Polson found great peace in his time spent on the water fishing and was known as "The Fish Master." He cherished fond memories and time spent at Edisto Beach with his family throughout the years, vacationing there often and enjoying the slow paced, "island time". However, his greatest joy in life was his family. He was a great husband to his wife and adored his daughters, granddaughters, and great-grandson, always supporting them in their activities and celebrating in their accomplishments.In addition to his parents, Mr. Polson was preceded in death by his brother, William B. Polson. Surviving family members left to cherish his memory include his wife of 57 years, Patricia B. Polson; his daughters, Rebecca Edmundson (Allen), Mary Grace Polson, and Toni Raye Fowler (Douglas); his granddaughters, Megan Corbin (Dalton Key) and Victoria Edmundson; his great-grandson, Raylen Key; and a host of nieces and nephews.Active Pallbearers will be Robert Crumley Jr., Allen Edmundson, Douglas Fowler, Rhett Lindsay, Dalton Key, Joey Greene, Gary Thornton, and Melvin Weathersbee.Honorary Pallbearers will be Rock Willingham, Dave Crawford, Dan Sullivan, Adam Sullivan, Noah Turner, and the members of the Baraca Sunday School Class.Memorial donations may be made to the First Baptist Church of Jackson, P.O.
