Toney N. Bowers

Toney N. Bowers of West Columbia, South Carolina, passed away after a life marked by service, dedication, and deep love for his family and community.

Born in Newberry, South Carolina, to the late Roy Bowers and Laura Nichols Bowers, Toney attended Silverstreet High School. At a young age he answered the call to serve, enlisting in the South Carolina Army National Guard, where he served with pride from 1960 until 1967. He later built a career as a skilled machinist with Cooper Air Tools, earning respect for his strong work ethic and commitment to his craft.

Toney found quiet joy in the things he loved most: cheering for the Clemson Tigers, spending time in Myrtle Beach, tending his garden, and sharing stories with friends at VFW Post 6740 in Leesville. Above all, he cherished his family.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Janice Taylor Bowers; his son, Chris (Vicki) Bowers; grandchildren Javon Bobo, Elainey Bobo, Eli Bowers, and India Bowers; his sister, Peggy Mullins; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Donald Bowers, and his daughter, Stephanie Bobo. He will be remembered for his steadfast service to his country, his quiet strength, and the genuine warmth he showed to all who knew him.
