Tommy Travis Copeland

Tommy Travis Copeland, age 80, of Williston, Tennessee, passed away on Thursday, March 12, 2026, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Collierville, Tennessee.

Born on August 2, 1945, to the late Joe Copeland and Hazel Blankenship, Tommy graduated from Kenton High School in 1963. He proudly served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Randolph, where he assisted in aircraft recovery operations. He later worked as an aircraft mechanic for FedEx for more than 25 years, retiring in 2011.

Tommy was an avid outdoorsman who found great joy in gardening, hunting, fishing, camping, motorcycle riding, and scuba diving. He also cherished time spent enjoying music. He is remembered as a devoted family man who lived life fully through his many passions.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Green Copeland of Williston, Tennessee; his son, Russ Chessor and wife Christy of Ashland, Virginia; his sister, Jill Copeland of Collierville, Tennessee; his brother, Jock Copeland and wife Joni of Collierville, Tennessee; and two grandchildren, Zachary and Matthew Chessor. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Antony Chessor, and his brother Freddie Copeland.
