Hutchison, age 80, of Fort Smith, Arkansas, passed away peacefully. He was born on September 3, 1945, in Huntington, Arkansas, to the late John Ellis Hutchison and Golda Shervil Hooper.Tommy attended Lincoln High School and Mansfield High School and graduated with the Class of 1965. He furthered his education at the American College of Fort Smith, Arkansas. He dedicated 40 years of hard work and service to Whirlpool before retiring.Tommy proudly served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps from 1967 to 1969 and later continued his service in the Army National Guard from 1981 until 2006.On June 26, 1976, Tommy married the love of his life, Christina Hutchison. Together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and family. Tommy will be remembered as a loving husband, devoted father, proud grandfather, and a caring "fur dad." He had a wonderful sense of humor and loved telling jokes that brought smiles to those around him.Tommy enjoyed fishing, watching Razorback sports, and listening to the radio. He was a man of faith who attended Evangel Temple and previously served as Assistant Pastor at Freshwater Christian Fellowship.He is survived by his beloved wife, Christina Hutchison of Fort Smith, Arkansas; four children, Alfreda Thomas (Don Thomas), Beashua Spearman, Dorrie Hutchison (Elena Corona), and Lorrie Hutchison (Isaac Varfee); two grandchildren, Maya and Ana; and his sisters, Corene Thompson, Karen Evans, and Carolyn Robinson. He also leaves behind a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family members, and friends who will cherish his memory.Tommy was preceded in death by his parents, John Ellis Hutchison and Golda Shervil Hooper; his grandparents, George Hooper, Amanda Hooper, Barney Hutchison, and Corene Hutchison; his brothers, William Hutchison, Bruce Hutchison, Melvin Hutchison, and Charles Hutchison; and his sister, Doris Johnson-Hogue.Honorary pallbearers will be Donald Johnson, Johnny Johnson, Christopher Mincey, Ken Alexandria, and Jeff Weller.A Celebration of Life will be on Thursday, March 19th, 11:30 am at the Evangel Temple Church, 1201 Towson Ave, Fort Smith, Arkansas, with a reception to follow. Committal service will be at 2:00 pm, Thursday, March 19th, 2026, at the Fort Smith National Cemetery, 522 Garland Street, Fort Smith, Arkansas.Tommy will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His kindness, humor, faith, and love for his family will live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
