Tommy Joe Treat, born on August 30, 1940, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2026, at the age of 85 in Marietta, Georgia.
A devoted family man, proud Air Force veteran, and faithful servant of the Catholic Church, Tommy lived a life defined by service, integrity, and quiet strength. He dedicated 42 years to the Boy Scouts of America, serving as Cubmaster of Pack 750, Scoutmaster of Troops 75 and 422, Chairman of the Catholic Committee on Scouting, and a longtime member of the Eagle Review Board. Through scouting, he mentored generations of young men, instilling values of character and honor that left a lasting impact on all who knew him.
Tommy served his country with distinction for 36 years in the United States Air Force, retiring as a Senior Master Sergeant. He continued his commitment to national service as a contractor with Lockheed Martin. A man of deep faith, he was an active member of his parish and the Knights of Columbus, regularly volunteering at the church food pantry and sharing fellowship with the Siena Senior group.
He found simple joys in cheering for the Atlanta Braves and Georgia Bulldogs, and in the warm company of his retired coworkers during cherished breakfast gatherings. Tommy is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Linda, and his three sons: Tim (wife Patty), Terry (wife Holly), and Todd (wife Candy). His legacy continues through his seven grandchildren—Phillip, Taylor, Carter, Crystal, Valerie, Victoria, and Tyler—and his seven great-grandchildren, all of whom he deeply loved.
