She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas Sweatt and Vera Hayes Sweatt; her husband George T. Gauntt; and her siblings, Bill Sweatt, Lewis Sweatt, Donald Sweatt, Sam Sweatt, Hazel Martin, Ruby Hayes, Patricia Mitcham, Vivian Moore, Dorothy Medlin and Nellie Caulder.

She is survived by: her children, George "Ted" Gauntt Jr. (Rebecca A.), Julie B. Seymour (Michael "Grey") and Faith Woodard (Jeff); her siblings, Elbert "Peewee" Sweatt and Helen Atkerson; her grandchildren, Tiffney, Megan and Preston; her niece Deborah Brown; and her pet Lilly Jane. She is also survived by 6 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 12th 2026 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home (2402 S Irby St, Florence, SC 29505). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 12th 2026 at 12:30 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Thursday, March 12th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at the Florence National Cemetery (803 E National Cemetery Rd, Florence, SC 29506).
