Tommy Dean Ellis

Tommy Dean Ellis, 79, of Palacios, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2026. Born on February 2, 1947, in Brownwood, Texas, he grew up with three brothers, Jesse, Gilbert, and Jerry, who kept him on his toes. He was preceded in death by his parents, W. L. and Rosalie Ellis, and by his brothers.

In 1970, Tommy married Patricia, who remained his steadfast partner for fifty-six years. Together they raised two daughters, Tommie Lynn and her husband Jeff, and Alta. He cherished his six grandchildren—Sarah, Samson, Sydney, Myracle, Blaze, and Luke—who were his favorite audience.

For more than thirty years, Tommy worked as a barber. He did far more than cut hair; he listened. Customers came in for a trim and left feeling lighter, as though he had lifted more than just the ends. He loved the quiet rhythm of the clippers, the familiar scent of aftershave, and the simple pleasure of a good story.
