Todd M. Johnston

Todd M. Johnston, age 56, of Canandaigua, passed away peacefully with his wife by his side on Friday, March 6, 2026, after a two-year battle with ALS.

Born in Watertown to James and Karen (Marshall) Johnston, Todd lived in many places before settling in Canandaigua, where he met his soulmate, Janet. They married in 1994 and built a life together, raising three children. Todd was a skilled painter who took great pride in his work and operated his own successful business, Todd Johnston Painting & More.

He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Janet Johnston; his children, Nicholas (Kate) Chappell, Mackenzie (Alyssa) Johnston, and Karryn Johnston (Justin Delong); six grandchildren, Addy and Nora Rossi, Carter and Cole Chappell, Roselynn Johnston, and Daphne Delong; his siblings, Scott (Terri) Johnston, Casey Johnston, and Morgan (Jay) Johnston-Way; his uncle, John (Patty) Johnston; his aunt, Patricia Crouse; dear friends Bridgett and Darrell; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
