Todd Hughes ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Gorgen-McGinley & Ayers Funeral Home on Mar. 3, 2026.Mineral Point - Todd Hughes, "Whoz", age 52, of Mineral Point, WI, passed away on Monday, March 2, 2026, after a battle with cancer.He was born on July 25, 1973, in Rockford, IL to Jim and Sue Hughes. Todd was an avid hunter and fisherman and took trips with the boys and his father every chance he got. He also enjoyed being a part of the Mineral Point wrestling family even after his sons graduated. Hockey, softball and baseball became a big part of his life to cheer on Elizabeth and Jamison. His greatest joy was being Papa and spoiling his grandchildren along with his great nieces and nephews. Todd retired from the military honorably with 24 years of service after being in the USMC from 1992-1999, 2005-2007(deploying to Iraq), and the Army from 2008-2022.Todd is survived by the love of his life Kate Welter, his parents Jim and Sue Hughes, his children Dakota (Samantha) Hughes, Mason Hughes, Elizabeth Haag, Jamison Haag; his grandchildren Kinslee Hughes and Judge Hughes; his sister Dawn (Tim) Sullivan; nieces Samantha (Zeph) Brunett (Easton, Leighton, Baylor, Brooks, Ember) and Tessa (Tommy) Monroe (Grayson, Baker), and nephew Payton Byous.He is preceded in death by his grandparents Ken and Betty Hughes, John and Helen Bowden, and his loyal dogs Sassy and Meatball.A visitation will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2026 from 1:00pm - 3:00pm at the GORGEN-McGINLEY & AYERS FUNERAL HOME in Dodgeville, WI with a celebration of life at a later date.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
