Tod Michael Spooner

Tod Michael Spooner of Saginaw Township, Michigan, passed away on March 10, 2026 at Covenant HealthCare-Cooper Campus at the age of 70. Born on March 17, 1955 in Saginaw, he was the son of Cathy (Pickell) Spooner and the late Donald Spooner. A graduate of Douglas MacArthur High School, Tod married Dawn M. Baase on January 24, 2015. She survives him along with his son, Jeff Spooner of Shields, his mother Cathy Spooner, and his sister Jill (Rick) Wardin.

Tod had a deep love for the outdoors, especially fishing, and found great joy in motorcycles. He raced dirt bikes for many years before riding his Harley. Known for his playful sense of humor, he was a devoted prankster who kept family and friends laughing. He cherished time with his grandchildren, happily passing along his mischievous spirit, and enjoyed relaxing in his garage “man cave” watching movies. His loyal dogs Henry and Stella were constant companions, as was his beloved Quincy, who preceded him in death and often joined him on fishing trips.

A hardworking and selfless man, Tod gave 38 years of service to Specialty Manufacturing while also running his own lawn care business for many years. He believed in leading by example and generously became a tissue donor through Michigan Gift of Life. In addition to his wife, son, mother, and sister, he is survived by step-children Brandon (Sheila) Kazmerski, Ryan (Ashley) Kazmerski, and Brianne Kennedy; grandchildren Miles Spooner, Cash Kazmerski, Cole Kazmerski, Emilee Kennedy, and Anthony Spirididliozzi; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Robert (Sue) Baase Jr., Cheryl Baase, Shari Csesar, and Steven (Tammy) Baase; many nieces and nephews, including special niece Heather Garcia; and was preceded in death by brother-in-law Michael Baase.
