October 28, 1953— March 12, 2026
Shepherdsville, KY
Timothy Kevin Miller, born on October 28, 1953, in Louisville, Kentucky, passed away peacefully at his home on March 12, 2026, after courageously battling illness for many years. Surrounded by his loved ones and faithful pets, he left this world with the same quiet strength and dignity that defined his life.
A retired machinist for Kentucky Metals, Timothy was a craftsman of remarkable skill who could fix or build nearly anything with his own hands. His passion for trucks was well known, as he devoted countless hours to their repair, maintenance, and upgrades. This dedication extended to teaching his children the skills of vehicle upkeep, instilling in them self-reliance and confidence. His strong work ethic was matched only by his devotion to his family.
Timothy’s towering presence was matched by an even larger sense of humor. His boisterous laugh and quick wit brightened the lives of those around him. Known for his dry sense of humor, he shared an endless array of jokes and pranks, always humble enough to laugh at himself when the tables were turned. To his children, he was a hero—the strongest man they ever knew—both in character and in his famously powerful “Popeye arms.” Playful and robust, he was affectionately known as the “Silverback Gorilla” as he rolled and wrestled on the floor with them, offering bucking rides and joyful moments they will cherish forever.
Timothy’s grandchildren were his pride and joy. He cherished family cookouts, days spent fishing, and memories made shooting BB guns with his grandson. A member of the band The KY Moonlighters, he performed at charity events and passed his profound love of music on to his grandchildren from their earliest days. Despite being left-handed, he learned to play his instruments upside down, a testament to his determination. A devout Baptist, he was a faithful attendee of Oak Grove Baptist Church, where his spirituality provided comfort and strength throughout his life.
He was united in marriage to his beloved wife, Barbara Miller, his best friend and steadfast companion for 44 years. Together since their wedding on October 8, 1982, they playfully called each other BB and faced life’s trials hand in hand.
Timothy leaves behind his loving wife Barbara; his children Reva, Lauren, and Timothy Aaron Miller; his sister Karen Williamson and her husband John; as well as cherished grandchildren Christian, Monica, Jesse, Alex, Darren Miller, and Gabe Smith. He also held dear lifelong friendships with Marty and Tom Hall, Linda and David Vincent, James Baldridge, Laura, Will, and MaKayla Mason, and Dustin Greenwell. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold Hanes Miller and Marjorie Kinslow.
