HUDSON, SOUTH DAKOTA ~ Timothy James Giffin, 68, of Hudson, passed away on Thursday, March 12, 2026. He has been cremated and the family are planning a celebration of life service at a later date. The Porter Funeral Home in Hudson is assisting the family. Condolences may be sent to www.porterfuneralhomes.com.Timothy James Giffin was born July 6, 1957, the son of Roger James Giffin and Jeanette Marie (Rushing) Giffin. Timothy grew up in various states, including Iowa, Florida, and later South Dakota. Timothy became a dedicated member of law enforcement for many years working in South Dakota and Florida. He retired due to health to Hudson, South Dakota.He is survived by 4 nephews, Matt Fleischer, Sean, Brandon, and Jesse Swartzwelder and his wife, Nikki; a niece, Nettie Jo Hoffman and her husband Michael; 12 grand nieces and nephews and 2 great-grand nieces and nephews. Timothy had no children.Timothy was preceded in death by his parents, Jeanette and Roger Giffin; brother, Guy Dean Giffin; sister, Kimberly Giffin Junk; and many aunts and uncles.
