Timothy Elmer Garrett

February 3, 1959 March 5, 2026

Council Grove, KS

Timothy Garrett “Tim”, age 67, was born during a blizzard on February 3, 1959 to Charles and Mary Lou (Wilson) Garrett. He passed away at Stormont Vail Hospital on March 5, 2026.

He and Katherine (Barger) Garrett were married on August 15, 1987 in Council Grove, Kansas.

Tim never met a stranger and loved to “shoot the breeze” with anyone and everyone, which is why he enjoyed his time working at Wal Mart for the last 23 years and while working at Farmers and Drovers Bank for 17 years in his youth. He enjoyed spending time hunting for deer with his son and friend, Randy Mahan. He also enjoyed going on multiple times to Bass Pro in Springfield which had to include trips to Lamberts. Trips with his dad going to El Paso, Texas, Wyoming, Montana, and South Dakota were highlights for all. Colorado Springs was a fun vacation with the children when they were small. My son and I sure enjoyed our big chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes (his favorite meal) in Holton, Kansas.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy; son, Michael (Tyffany) Garrett; siblings, Chadelyn Garrett, Coleen Yadon (Kenny), and Cara Garrett. He is also survived by nieces, Lorrie Wooden and Cindy Hutchinson; nephews Baylor Yadon and Travis Garrett.

He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Michelle Garrett, Cyd Garrett and brother, Patrick Garrett; nephew Justin Yadon and daughter Stefanie Drummond.

Funeral services will be held March 12, 2026 at 10 am at Community Christian Church in Council Grove with graveside service following at Sunnyslope Cemetery. Memorial donations can be made to The Flint Hills Rebuilders or Care and Share and can be sent in care of Sawyer Funeral Home, 137 N. Union Street, Council Grove, Kansas 66846.
