Thomas William Schroeder Sr., known affectionately as Tom to his friends and family, passed away on March 5, 2026, at his home in Laingsburg, Michigan. Born on February 21, 1954, in Cleveland, Ohio, to the late Victor Christian Schroeder and Naomi Caroline Lutz, Tom lived a life grounded in hard work, faith, and deep devotion to family.
A devoted husband, he married Denise Paulette Brady on September 6, 1975. Their marriage of more than five decades was blessed with two children, Thomas Schroeder Jr. and Anna Schroeder, and two cherished grandchildren, Nyah and Romann. He is also survived by his siblings, Carolyn Gaus, Eileen Grostic, and Victor III (Dianna) Schroeder.
Tom earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Michigan State University and built a respected career in the financial sector as a banker and financial planner. He served as an Elder at Spirit Christ Church in Haslett, Michigan, where his daily prayer life and ministry as a prayer intercessor reflected the strength of his Christian faith. An adventurer at heart, Tom was a gentleman farmer who cared for chickens, goats, and a beloved garden. He owned three motorcycles and three planes, enjoying both the open road and the freedom of flight. He completed the DALMAC bike ride an impressive 30 times, embodying a life of discipline, health, and joyful exploration.
Those who knew him will remember Tom as loving, adventurous, and intelligent—a man whose warmth and wisdom left a lasting impression on everyone around him. He lived out his faith with purpose, completing the good works prepared for him.
