Tommy, as hewas fondly called by his family and friends, was the oldest child of Agnes Megerdichian ofWhitinsville, Massachusetts and Thomas Vartkes Sahagian of Providence Rhode Island. He issurvived by his Sister Diane Deullo of Providence Rhode Island and had Two Brother's, MichaelSahagian and Robert Sahagian who are deceased.Tommy was a graduate of Johnston High School and always had a love and an expertise in automechanics but that was interrupted by his military service in the US Army from 1968-1970. Hewas sent to Vietnam and served for a time as a military policeman. After his discharge hereceived training as a dental lab technician but eventually returned to his career into automechanics.Tommy later was employed delivering cars to auto dealerships while also workingoccasionally on cars. He was a tow truck driver for many years in Florida and then laterreturned to Providence and did various registry of motor vehicle tasks including vehicle titles.Tommy was the family go to for auto related matters but it was his love and devotion for hisfamily that he will be remembered. Although Tommy never had children of his own, his niecesand nephews became his world. His life became surrounded by family and friends who hebecame devoted to and provided for those who needed help. Tommy was a warm, generousand loving person. He always wore a smile, had a funny story to tell and loved to laugh. Nomatter where he was, whenever there was a family gathering, he would jump in his car and bethere.He was proud of his family and his Armenian heritage. To his nieces and nephews,Uncle Tommy was special and they would reciprocate their affection.Tommy was the oldest sibling of first-generation Armenian Americans. His grandparents weresurvivors of the Armenian Genocide of 1915.Tommy lived with his girlfriend Jane Conti Walason, to whom he was devoted, until he passedaway suddenly.Funeral Services will be on Thursday, March 12th at 11:00AM in the Armenian Apostolic Church of Whitinsville, 315 Church St., Whitinsville, MA. Interment will be private.In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Armenian Apostolic Church of Whitinsville, 315 Church St., Whitinsviile, MA 01588.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
