Oshkosh, WI
Tom Sekulich, 72, of Oshkosh, Wisconsin, died on March 7, 2026. Born on November 14, 1953, in West Allis, Wisconsin, to Daniel and Patricia (Burns, Sekulich) Liban, Tom graduated from Nathan Hale High School in West Allis and later earned a degree in Journalism from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh.
After a brief period in local broadcasting, he embarked on a decade of travel and work that led him from Brazil to Newfoundland and Alaska, where he participated in offshore oil exploration and learned to fly. Upon returning to Oshkosh, Tom began a 30-year career as a bridgetender. The role kept him close to the water and allowed him to live the independent, uncomplicated life he preferred on his own terms.
An avid reader with a deep interest in history and literature, Tom also enjoyed golf, cheering for the Brewers, good conversation, music, and a cold beer. Above all, he cherished the friendships he formed with those fortunate enough to know him.
He was predeceased by his parents and his sister Sarah Sekulich. Tom is survived by his wife Susan Kepplinger, his sister Mary Kennedy, nieces Jill Freiermuth and Kate Kennedy-Stussey, and great-nephews. Per his wishes, no formal services will be held.
