Thomas Richard Jones

Thomas R. "Butch" Jones, 80, of Clarksburg, passed away on Monday morning, March 16, 2026, at Copper Knoll Health and Rehabilitation in Washington Court House. Born in Pickaway County on February 7, 1946, he was the son of the late Charles and Kathleen Thacker Jones. Butch married Brenda L. Alexander on August 27, 1973; she preceded him in death on September 21, 2000.

A 1964 graduate of Clarksburg High School, Butch served his country as a United States Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War. He retired from PPG in Circleville after 35 years of dedicated service. He found great joy in watching his granddaughters play volleyball and softball, and he remained a lifelong enthusiast of harness racing.

He is survived by his daughter, Twila Jones of Frankfort; his son, Richard "Skip" (Jenny) Jones of Clarksburg; four granddaughters, Kirsten Jones, Natalee (Nick) Chester, Lauren Jones, and Emily Jones; and three great-grandchildren, Parker Wallace, Emersyn Chester, and Holden Thomas Chester. Butch is also survived by his brother, David "Mouse" (Gayle) Jones of Clarksburg, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Rosemary Mossbarger, Shirley Cozad, Dorothy Jones, and Ruth Evans, and his brothers, Charles "Bo" Jones, Roger "Sam" Jones, Bill Jones, and John Jones.
