Thomas Moore ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Boren-Conner Funeral Home - Bullard on Mar. 9, 2026.Thomas Ray (St. James) Moore was born March 19, 1946, in Converse, Louisiana to Solon Lem and Verlie Gladys (McDonald) Moore. He was the second born of four children-Annette, Thomas, Winnie and Dennis. He grew up in the Noble and Zwolle, Louisiana areas surrounded by loving family. He graduated from Zwolle High School in 1964 and was drafted into the Army and stationed at Ft. Hood; then transferred to Fort Myers in Arlington, Virginia. Thomas completed his service with the army July 1970 when he was Honorably discharged from service. He was a member of the Choctaw Apache Tribe of Ebarb, Louisiana.Thomas taught commercial art at Commercial College in Shreveport for two years, sharing his artistic talents with others. He worked maintenance at nursing homes and hotels in Tyler. After retirement, he went to work at Brookshires in the deli for three years where he was affectionately referred to as 'Chicken Man'.Thomas met the love of his life, Sandra, in July 1995 and they married December 1996. He loved to help his beloved Sandra set her classrooms up every year in preparation for the new school year. Between them, they have five children, eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.Thomas was a devout Catholic who faithfully served as an usher at Saint Mary Magdelene Catholic Church in Flint, where he'd been a member since 2007.He died peacefully in his sleep Friday March 6, 2026, at 7:35 a.m.He was an amazing husband, daddy, grandfather, son, brother and uncle. He was much loved and will be missed by all his family and friends.He was our PapPaw Thomas, PaPa and Grandpa. The pride of his life was his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren!Thomas is survived by his loving wife, Sandra, their children: Helen, Deidre' (John), Stacy (Michael), Micah (Brandi) and Nicholas. Grandchildren: Sophia (Michael), Riley (Marcus), Andrew (Haley), Katie, Sadie (Ben), Michael (Kaelyn), Evan and Trinity.
