Thomas Patrick Eggert

February 20, 1969 March 9, 2026

Plymouth, MI

Thomas Patrick Eggert, age 57, of Plymouth, passed away on March 9, 2026. Born in Dearborn, Michigan on February 20, 1969 to the late Patricia (née Proske) and Duane Eggert, he grew up surrounded by the love of his family and carried that warmth throughout his life.

He was the beloved and devoted husband of Carla (née Blackwell) Eggert, loving father of Rebecca (Paul) Pouch and Joshua (Rachel) Eggert, and proud grandfather of Martin Verbruggen, Aspen Eggert, and Wesley Eggert. He is deeply loved and will be greatly missed by his brothers, Mike Eggert and Matt (Joanne Prockup) Eggert, his brother-in-law Matt Blackwell, and sisters-in-law Nicole Clarke and Stacey Clarke, as well as his nephews Phil Eggert, Tom Wick, Ken Wick, Jacob Blackwell, Joshua Barger, and Christopher Bitner, and nieces Brandy Wick and Sammi (Kane Woldhagen) Blackwell. He also leaves behind four great-nieces and five great-nephews.

For 26 years, Tom worked in automotive seating at Adient, formerly Johnson Controls, in the Prototype Shop, most recently as a Prototype Inspector. He took genuine satisfaction in the investigative nature of his role, identifying issues so products could be improved and made safer. Earlier in his career, he worked in the RV industry at Vicars Trailer Sales and Camping World, where he first met his future wife, Carla.

Tom and Carla shared a deep love of travel, exploring Peru and Paris, cruising the Rhine River through the Netherlands, Germany, France, and Switzerland on a Viking River Cruise, and discovering beautiful hiking spots across the United States. He was remarkably skilled at nearly everything he turned his hand to, whether figuring out a new challenge, crafting in his home darkroom, or tending his meticulously kept yard filled with flowers and plants. Kind, generous, and quick with humor, Tom had a gift for making others feel comfortable and was often the one who brought family, friends, and coworkers together. He will be remembered as someone who truly enjoyed life and people, always ready with a listening ear or a supportive shoulder.
