It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Thomas Michele Withers (Mobile, Alabama), who passed away on February 26, 2026, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, James Withers and Valena Withers; his siblings, Alice Ethel Dixon, James Withers and Charles Withers; and his brother-in-law Anthony Gayles.

He is survived by: his wife Vivian Stewart Withers; his daughter Rita Michele Withers Smith; his granddaughters, Taylor Michelle Smith of Mobile, AL and Gabrielle Dominique Smith of Mobile, AL; his sister Valena W. McCants of Mobile, AL; and his siblings-in-law, Erma Withers of Bethesda, MD, Doris Newton of Hollywood, FL and Herbert L. Stewart (Lena) of Newport News, VA. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, godchildren, and countless friends.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 12th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Episcopal Church (605 Donald St, Mobile, AL 36617). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 12th 2026 at 6:30 PM and on Friday, March 13th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
