Thomas Leo Cumiskey, III Obituary March 3, 2026 - Palms West Funeral Home & Crematory Inc.
FL
Thomas Leo Cumiskey, III entered eternal peace on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, after a valiant battle to live a healthy life. His light began to shine on December 28, 1954 when he was born to Thomas L. Cumiskey Jr and Denise Cadorette Cumiskey at the US Naval Hospital in Quantico, Virginia. Tom was always proud of his father's 20 year Marine Corp career and happily moved from place to place finally settling in Kearny, New Jersey at the age of 12. Tom had an amazing circle of friends with many memorable moments growing up on Elm Street. A 1973 graduate of Kearny High School, Tom worked a variety of jobs before joining The Seiler Corporation where he worked in hospital food service management. He went on to work retail management and retired from Walgreens. Tom started a new life with his family in South Florida in 1990, always loving the sea with many happy hours spent at the beach or the inlet watching the boats go by. Happy pastimes included drives along A1A, sunsets everywhere and gazing at the moon. He loved a good football game and every kind of auto race. Tom loved to cook, but swore he would never do another Thanksgiving dinner, made the best scrambled eggs and was always happy to make a variety of dinners to ensure the grandkids ate. Dinners out always had a snafu with Tom's meal only and he was quick to write a letter to any corporation for an issue with a product, happy when he received a response or even better, a coupon for future use. Tom never met a person who didn't like him because he was always kind, caring, non-judgmental and would do anything he could to make your day better. He was quiet about the things he did, never looking for praise, just wanting the ones he loved to be happy and to know he cared. Tom leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 42 years, Joyce Cumiskey, son, Logan Cumiskey and fiancé Madison McKee, daughter, Rachel Cumiskey and her children, Tom's beloved grands, Blake and Zoey. Tom also leaves his brother, Mark Cumiskey and his wife, Shelia, beloved family Carol and Bob Brumale, Lisa DelBene, nieces, nephews, cousins and lifelong friend, Peggy Siegle. While our hearts are broken, we have faith that we will all meet again and until then, Tom's beautiful legacy will live on in all of us.
