Thomas "Tom" L. Ruble

Thomas "Tom" L. Ruble

Greensburg, IN

Thomas “Tom” Lester Ruble, 74, of Greensburg, passed away on March 12, 2026, at Franciscan Health in Indianapolis. Born on February 28, 1952, in Batesville, Indiana, he was the son of Archie and Wanda (Pursley) Ruble. A 1971 graduate of North Decatur High School, Tom began his career at Union Furniture shortly after graduation and devoted more than twenty years to the company until its closing. In May of 1973, he married Mary Beth Muckerheide, who survives him.

Tom lived a life centered on community, service, and family. He was a proud member of the New Point Volunteer Fire Department and of St. Catherine of Siena Parish in Enochsburg. In his younger years he enjoyed hunting and fishing, and as his family grew he found deep fulfillment coaching his children’s sports teams. A talented woodworker and lifelong jokester, Tom had a gift for bringing laughter to every gathering and truly never met a stranger. He loved playing cards, especially euchre and spades, and treasured the moments spent playing games with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Beth Ruble; his children, Steven (Jessica) Ruble, Amanda (Jennifer) Ruble, and Karen (Clint) Krieger; his grandchildren, Jacob Krieger, Lauren Krieger, Nola Ruble, Olivia Krieger, and Anna Ruble; his siblings, Rebecca (Randy) Schebler, Stella (Ron) Pyles, Sandra (Gary) Hamer, Nelrose (Mike) Price, and Ernest (Ann) Ruble; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Archie and Wanda Ruble.
