Thomas L. McGuire

Thomas L. “Tom” McGuire, 91, of Rogersville, passed away at his home on March 8, 2026. Born on July 9, 1934, in Prague, Oklahoma, to James C. and Bertie I. (Nash) McGuire, Tom lived a life marked by quiet strength, service, and deep devotion to family.

A U.S. Air Force veteran, Tom later served in the U.S. Navy as a Seabee, retiring in 1978. He remained active in the Fleet Reserve and the V.F.W. In his free time, he enjoyed golf and his beloved MG motor cars, yet nothing brought him greater joy than spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Elizabeth M. Lynch, whom he married in 1971 and who passed in 1995; his second wife, Jean Holifield, whom he married in 2003 and who passed in 2023; two sisters, two brothers, and three grandchildren.

Tom is survived by his daughters, Chris McGuire-Collins and her husband Allen, and Heather Williams and her husband Lloyd; his sons, John Hohl and his wife Tracey, and Jeff Hohl; his grandchildren, Moriah Scholz and her husband Aaron, Jacob Proebstel and his wife Melanie, Keira Torgerson and her husband Bryan, and Lyndon Tutor; his sister Laurie Lowe; ten great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends who will carry his memory with love.
