Thomas J. Pitcher

Thomas J. “T.J.” Pitcher, age 78, of Richmond, passed away on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at Lyndon Crossing Nursing Home in Louisville.

Born in Madison County on April 30, 1947, T.J. was the son of the late Harold Pitcher and Barbara Charlton Pitcher Marcum. He worked for many years at Uncle Charlie’s Meats and, after retiring, continued working at O'Reilly Auto Parts. In earlier years he enjoyed golfing and attending the races at Keeneland. A lifelong supporter of University of Kentucky athletics, he was a devoted fan of both the football and basketball teams. For many years his faithful dog, Jojo, remained his constant and closest companion.

T.J. was married to Lori Sallee Pitcher, who preceded him in death on November 24, 2020. He is survived by his two sons, Jason (and Andrea) Pitcher of Corydon, Indiana, and Phillip Pitcher of Richmond; his sister, Linda (and Ricky) Mize; his nieces and nephews, Misty (and Robbie) Randall, Chris (and Jonna) Mize, Pam Grant (and Ricky Middleton), and Blaine Wheeler; his mother-in-law, Monzell Sallee; his sister-in-law, Vicki Grant; and his brother-in-law, Larry Wheeler. He was also preceded in death by his father-in-law, Lloyd Sallee, his sister-in-law Karen Wheeler, and his brother-in-law Bennie Grant.
