Thomas J. Olson09/03/1975 - 03/08/2026It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Thomas J. Olson, a devoted husband, loving father, proud son, loyal brother, United States Navy veteran, and a friend to many.Thomas made his home in Midland but was born and raised in Appleton, where he grew up as the oldest of four brothers. Being the oldest brother was a role Thomas carried with pride throughout his life. He was a protector, a competitor, and someone his brothers looked up to from childhood through adulthood. The bond he shared with them was one of loyalty, strength, and countless memories that will live on forever.Thomas proudly served his country in the United States Navy. His service reflected the strength of his character-courage, dedication, and selflessness. To many he was a veteran, but to his family he was truly a hero. As the Navy says, "Honor, Courage, Commitment"-these were the principles Thomas lived by every day.Above all else, Thomas was a family man. He shared a loving life with his wife, Julie Olson, and took great pride in his children and grandchildren. His family was the center of his world, and he cherished every moment spent with them. He was known for his strength, his humor, and the way he showed up for the people he loved.Thomas is survived by his loving wife, Julie Olson; his children, Joshua Perez (April Robles), Brittney Salazar (Rickey Salazar), and Jeremiah Olson. He is also survived by his father, Steven Olson, and stepmother (Mary Olson); his brothers Travis Olson (Karri), Michael Olson, and Matthew Olson (Mendy); his mother-in-law Irma James and father-in-law Pedro Herrera; his sister-in-law Frances (Arturo) Riviera; and his brother-in-law Pedro (Flora) Herrera Jr. He also leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews: Mason, Marshal, Colton, Logan, Arianna, and Tanner, along with extended family of aunts, uncles, god parents, cousins and many many dear friends. Thomas was preceded in death by his mother, Sandra Olson.Thomas will be remembered for his strength, loyalty, and the deep love he had for his family. He was a man who stood tall for those he loved, served his country with honor, and left a lasting mark on everyone who knew him.
