He lived a full life marked by resilience, hard work, and deep love for his family and friends.Tom was born on January 5, 1940, in Kingston, Pennsylvania, to the late Joseph and Margaret Belcastro. Thomas attended Kingston High School and entered the Navy just 3 days after his 17th birthday, following in the footsteps of his brother Gene, a WWII naval officer. Tom proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1957 to 1961. After being honorably discharged from the Navy, Tom started his family and his career with International Business Machine Corporation. In his career at IBM, Tom worked as a Europe/Middle East/Africa Division Manager for over 30 years, working primarily in White Plains N.Y. and in Paris, France; he is a member of IBM's Quarter Century Club. After retirement from IBM Corp., Tom went to work for The AB Wolle Corporation in Scarsdale, NY, which he later went on to own. During this time of his life is when Thomas became involved in local and county politics. Holding office and participating in several Republican Committees were a true passion for him. His time as Treasurer at GOP headquarters was some of the most rewarding of his life.Our father was proud of his Armed Forces service and of his service to his community, having active memberships (and accolades) in many organizations, among those:US Navy, serving 4 years primarily on the USS DeSoto of which he is a plank ownerFormer member and past president of Katonah Rotary ClubLong-time Treasurer for Westchester County Republican CommitteeFormer North Salem Town Councilman (16 years) and Deputy SupervisorFormer North Salem Republican Committee ChairmanU.S. Selective Service System Appeal Board: NYS District 556: ChairmanTom was a calm voice of reason, passion, wisdom, and an inspiration to many who knew him. Our father supported and lent guidance to many of his peers and to his family's friends. Tom honored the oaths he took in elected office and he was humbled and inspired by the people who supported him.Tom is survived by: his sisters Marlene Moses and Dona Klein, his wife Beth, his sons Nicholas (wife Jeanine) and Daniel Belcastro (wife Jenna), nine grandchildren: Marilyn, Dana, Lexus, David, Anthony, Thomas, Giacinto, Christopher and Jack and two great-grandchildren.He was predeceased by: his brother Eugene Opet, his sisters Frances Martin and Dorothy Knelly, along with an infant son Thomas Belcastro Jr., two daughters Jean-Marie Belcastro and Annette Belcastro White, and their mother Irene Belcastro (nee Bafile).Tom Belcastro lived with purpose and joy, shaped by the people he loved and the friendships he carried with him. Though he is no longer here, the memories he shared continue to live on in all who knew and loved him.
