Born on March 25, 1959, in Bellefonte, he was the son of the late John F. Hockenberry, Sr. and Betty J. (Keith) Hockenberry. On August 20, 1988, he married his beloved wife, Sharon (Frantz) Hockenberry, who survives after sharing 38 years of marriage together.Danny was a 1978 graduate of Bellefonte Area High School. He worked in the maintenance department at Toftrees for 38 years until his retirement.In addition to his wife, Sharon, he is survived by his three children, Brandi Struble (David) of Milesburg, Daniel Bohn (Katie) of State College, and Tiffany Weaver (Jacob) of Snow Shoe, and five grandchildren: Mikayla Struble, James Struble, Felix Bohn, Rhett Weaver, and Rhenn Weaver. Also surviving are his siblings, John Hockenberry, Jr. (Iris) of Milesburg, Lou Erma Krape (Robert Stover) of Bellefonte, Denny Hockenberry (Roxanne) of Bellefonte, and Robbie Hockenberry of Bellefonte, his sisters-in-law, Wilma Hockenberry of Bellefonte, Christine Glantz (Jack) of Beech Creek and numerous nieces and nephews.Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Jamie Hockenberry, Gary Hockenberry, and Stewart Hockenberry.Danny took great pride in his children and family. Danny loved his job at Toftrees and spending time at the garage with his closest friends. Additionally, he enjoyed being able to help others. Danny could fix nearly anything, lending his expertise to his family and friends countless times over the years. He was a member of the American Legion Post #33 in Bellefonte. He enjoyed being outside, whether he was tending to his yard, which he took great pride in, going hunting or fishing, he never took the little joys in life for granted. More than anything, he loved spending time with his family. His grandchildren brought him the most joy. Danny leaves behind endless memories that his loved ones will forever cherish.Memorial services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
