He was predeceased by: his parents, D. C. Collins and Nellie Salley Collins; and his pet Pistachio. He is survived by: his wife Elaine; and his siblings, Margaret and Pat.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 20th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church (7500 Pearl St, Bethesda, MD 20814). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, March 20th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
