He was born on November 10, 1944.Thomas graduated from River Forest High School in Hobart, Indiana, in 1963. In 1964, he was drafted into the United States Army and faithfully served his country during the Vietnam War, including 18 months overseas. Following his military service, Thomas built a long and dedicated career at Inland Steel, where he worked until his retirement in 1999.Thomas was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He shared 58 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Patricia Snyder. He valued hard work, loyalty, and time spent with family. His life was marked by quiet strength, dedication to those he loved, and a deep sense of responsibility.He is survived by his wife, Patricia Snyder; his children, Julie Palmer (Timothy Palmer), Thomas Snyder (Lizette Snyder), Jonathan Snyder (Jennifer Snyder), and Kimberly Hegyi (Miles Hegyi); his cherished grandchildren, Dallas Palmer (Esther Palmer), Jessica Palmer, Alyssa Palmer, Hannah Shimp (Blane Shimp), Thomas Snyder, Lukas Snyder, Titus Snyder, Wyatt Snyder, Analise Hegyi, Eva Hegyi, and Elaine Hegyi; and his great-grandchildren, Ezra Palmer, Clara Palmer, Nolan Palmer, and Charlotte Palmer. He is also survived by his siblings, Doris Tharp, Larry Snyder (Joan Snyder), and Marie Stewart. Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Louisa Snyder; his sister, Bonnie Lou Snyder; and his granddaughter, Madyson Snyder.Thomas's life and legacy will live on through the many family members and friends who loved him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.There will be a visitation from 4:00-6:00 p.m. followed by his funeral service at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, March 13, 2026 at New Life Apostolic Church in Kendallville, IN, 609 Patty Ln., Kendallville, IN 46755, with Pastor Austin Gilliland officiating. Burial will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 14, 2026 at Hartford Cemetery near Spencerville, OH. Thomas E.
