Thomas Chase ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Hidden Valley Funeral Home of Kearney on Mar. 4, 2026.Thomas Edward Chase, 87, of Kearney, MO passed away March 3, 2026.Tom was born February 21, 1939, in Oil Hill, KS to Thomas A. and Laura (Ashby) Chase. After graduating high school in El Dorado, KS, he served in the United States Air Force from 1956 to 1960 attaining the rank of Airman 2nd Class. Tom then began work at Boeing Aircraft before retiring after a 30-year career with TWA. In 1962 he married Geniveve Webster and together they raised three children. On December 22, 1984, Tom married Sarah Barmann with whom he would spend the rest of his life with.Tom was a member of the Northern Hills Baptist Church in Kearney. Tom loved the Lord. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards with friends, spending time with family and following KU basketball, KC Chiefs and Royals. He has been described as a "tinkerer". Always one to stay busy drawing, building or working on projects such as houses, birdhouses and restoring cars, often with family and friends, or just working in the yard.He was preceded in death by his brother Donald Chase and sister Vera Brown.Tom is survived by his wife of 41 years, Sarah Chase; children Todd (Mary) Chase, Liberty, MO, Valerie Chase, Kearney, MO, and Tim (Stacy) Chase, Kearney, MO; stepsons Rick (Kim) Morgan, Deland, FL, and Steven Morgan, Phoenix, AZ; grandchildren Tyler, Dillon, Noah (Hannah), Ryan and Alex; great-grandchildren Kallen and Bentlee; other relatives and many friends.Funeral Service: 12:00 noon Tuesday, March 10, 2026, with visitation one hour prior to the service at the Hidden Valley Funeral Home of Kearney.Burial: Mount Olivet Cemetery, Kearney, MOTo plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
