Thomas E. Hedrick, age 91, of Crawfordsville, Indiana, passed away on March 12, 2026, at the Lane House in Crawfordsville.

Born on October 28, 1934, in Crawfordsville, Tom was the son of Randolph and Dorotha Kelsey Hedrick. He grew up in Garfield and attended New Market School. A lifelong grain and livestock farmer, he worked for twelve years at Plastene before farming full-time, retiring in 2008. In 1993, he married Peggy Hawkins in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. The couple moved to Crawfordsville in 2006, where they made their home.

Tom served eight years in the Indiana National Guard and was a longtime member of New Hope Christian Church. He had been a Mason since 1979, belonging to the Crawfordsville F&AM Lodge and the Scottish Rite of Indianapolis. He was also a member of the Crawfordsville Eagles, the American Legion, and a co-founder of the Montgomery County Pioneer Association. An avid collector and restorer of antique tractors, he enjoyed attending tractor shows. Tom served on the board of the Farm Service Agency and was a board member of the former Westland Co-op, now Keystone. Above all, he loved people and truly never met a stranger.

He is survived by his wife, Peggy; his children, Jim (Trudie) Hedrick of Bringhurst, Raymond Hedrick of Crawfordsville, and Brenda (Brad) Jordan of Westfield; Peggy’s children, Shelley (Kevin) Spees of Zionsville, Anita (Aaron) Emmert of Thorntown, and Aaron (Dana) Ford of Lebanon; 21 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren; his brother, Robert (Beverly) Hedrick of Crawfordsville; his sister, Marilyn Barker of Phoenix, Arizona; and many nieces and nephews. Tom was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Terri, and his grandson Troy Long.
